Artist Bio

I fell in love with painting during my time at Eastern Illinois University where I studied studio art with talented and inspiring professors.

After moving in 2009 to Raleigh, North Carolina, I met more incredible teachers. Through the study and practice of yoga, I finally felt connected to myself and the world around me. I also became a student of reiki, a form of energy healing.

The Blue Ridge Mountains beckoned me to be here so I made the move and since then, birthed two amazing people into the world. Becoming a mother has been the most complex and amazing identity shift I’ve ever experienced.  When I have free time I enjoy gardening, disc golf and just going on walks.

 Artist Statement

I am inspired by the beauty and complexity of our worlds, both the outside natural world and the inner mindbody. My creative process begins intuitively, working with colors and energies that I feel and often my paintings will morph into a mountain scape with cosmic elements woven into it.  I draw upon my memory of hikes in the Blue Ridge mountains, drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway and my inner emotional landscape to guide me in creating.

My intention is for my pieces to leave you feeling expansive, inspired and tuned in to your own creativity.
